Unboxing the Gforce 12-Hammer while I patiently waited on my background check to clear—the experience was immediately impressive. In a market full of Turkish-made semi-auto 12-gauge shotguns, many are notoriously “picky eaters” that demand high-velocity ammo. The 12-Hammer, however, lives up to its name: it cycles reliably with virtually everything you feed it—from light No. 7½ target loads all the way to 3″ T-shot and steel shot—and does so without requiring 1,300 fps ammunition like its peers. That flexibility was a breath of fresh air—a dependable workhorse you don’t have to babysit.
From the first grip, the ergonomics feel well thought out. The balance and feel are so reminiscent of a standard .308-style AR platform: it’s sleek, intuitive, and instantly comfortable. The weight is right at home on the shoulder—about 8.4 pounds, enough to cancel some recoil without being fatiguing. Just as promised by G-Force Arms, you’re holding both a precision instrument and a hard-charging tool.
Design & Build Quality
Gas-Operated, Buffer-Tube System
One of the distinguishing features is the gas-operated buffer-tube system. Unlike other models that require high-velocity shells to cycle, the 12-Hammer’s rear-driven gas piston allows smooth, reliable cycling with all shells—even lighter target loads—without increasing felt recoil. The system feels refined and durable.

Construction Materials
Everything from its 18.5-inch 4140 full-steel barrel to the T6-7075 upper receiver radiates solid engineering. The upper is forged aluminum, while the lower uses rugged polymer to balance strength and manageability. It comes with a monoblock synthetic stock and forend, both tough yet thoughtfully designed, finished off with corrosion-resistant anodizing.
Modular Features & Ergonomics
The shotgun features an adjustable overall length—from about 31.1 to 48.2 inches—so it can fit different shooters and environments, whether mobility is key or compactness for close-quarters operation. Add-ons are easy: there’s an integrated Picatinny rail, plus compatibility with Benelli Mobil choke tubes (it ships with five: CYL, IMP CYL, MOD, IMP MOD, and FULL), giving you real customization for spread and patterning.
The butt-stock has a fold down compartment where you can easily fit a back-up round
Disassembly and cleanup are straightforward thanks to a 2-pin locking system, making upper/lower separation quick—even out in the field.
On the Range: Performance & Handling
Ammunition Flexibility
Gforce recommends running 50 rounds of 1400 FPS buckshot through as a break-in period. I did that first, then I tested a broad range of loads—including Winchester target loads, which many competitive semi-autos balk at—and the 12-Hammer ate them with no hesitation. Cycling light target ammo and magnum T-shot alike, it reaffirmed its reputation as a truly “picky-eater-proof” shotgun.
Recoil & Controls
At 8.4 pounds, the recoil impulse is friendly, even with heavier loads. The buffer tube system softens the punch, and the straight, in-line stock—similar to AR geometry—assists in recoil management. The controls, including the magazine well and magazine insertion, feel familiar and smooth, taking advantage of AR-pattern ergonomics.
Various choke options are available for the 12-hammer
Customization & Accessories
During the review, I mounted a red-dot sight and a weapon-light via the Picatinny rail. The 12-Hammer handled these add-ons nicely, and I noted aftermarket parts are available on G-Force’s GFArmory site. Swapping chokes is intuitive and makes a real performance difference whether I’m plinking targets or tightening groupings for clays.
